Our My Pet Parrot Stories series features real experiences from parrot owners, celebrating birds of all sizes and species, from tiny budgies to magnificent macaws. Each published story gives our community a chance to meet another feathered personality and discover what makes them so loved.
How to Participate in My Pet Parrot Stories
Getting involved is easy, and you don't need to be an experienced writer. We'll help you share your parrot's story every step of the way.
Step 1: Introduce Your Parrot. Complete our online submission form with your contact details and a short introduction to your parrot. Tell us their name, species and a little about what makes them special.
Step 2: Receive Our Questionnaire. We'll email you a set of questions to help you tell your story. These cover everything from your parrot's favourite activities and funny habits to the special moments you've shared.
Step 3: Share Your Story and Photos. Use the questionnaire to prepare a story of at least 500 words. Don't worry about making it perfect! We're interested in your genuine experiences. You'll also need to provide at least three high-quality photographs of your parrot.
Step 4: Submit Your Completed Story. Email your answers and photos back to us. We'll review your submission and consider it for publication on the Parrot Essentials blog.
Step 5: Get Featured and Rewarded! If your story is selected and published, you could receive a Parrot Essentials voucher worth up to £50 to spend on our website.
What Happens After You Submit Your Story?
We aim to publish new My Pet Parrot Stories once or twice a month, giving our community regular opportunities to meet wonderful birds and their owners.
If your story is selected for an upcoming feature, we'll contact you to let you know. We'll also arrange your reward once the story has been published.
Not selected straight away? Don't worry! We keep submissions for consideration in future editions, so your parrot could still have their moment in the spotlight.
Story Submission Terms and Conditions
- To qualify for consideration, your completed story must be at least 500 words long and answer the questions provided in our questionnaire.
- You must submit at least three clear, high-quality photographs of your parrot that you have permission to share.
- Submitting a story does not guarantee publication or a reward.
- Selected stories that are published may receive a Parrot Essentials voucher worth up to £50.
- The voucher amount is determined by Parrot Essentials based on the story's content, quality and potential interest to readers.
- Parrot Essentials reserves the right to select, edit and publish submitted stories and accompanying photographs, subject to the contributor's permission.
